Abandoned WWII(?) airfield near June Mountain/June Lake

FROM:  Minden Airport take 395 south to Bald Mountain Road, 111 miles, 2.5 hours.  Bald Mountain Road is dirt/gravel road on the east side of 395.  Many branches to various camping sites.  Car access to the landing area requires driving past the area and turning back on N-S spur.  Negotiating with trailer difficult but not impossible.
FROM:   Bishop, take 395 north 50 miles to Bald Mountain Rd.
Landing area is huge, wide N-S runway with graded X’s (to signify closed runway) that make nice crosswind runways.  Small trees growing in first 1000’ of S runway.  Runway is disintegrating concrete.  “X’s” are plowed gravel.  Area used for snowmobiling in winter.
