GIANT ROCK

   FROM: Victorville Hwy 15 and Bear Valley Rd

   Go eastbound on Bear Valley Rd for 12.6 miles

   Keep right and turn onto Hwy 18 and continue south/eastbound for 10.6
   miles to Lucerne valley, Hwy 18 and 247 junction

   Go eastbound on Hwy 247 for 33 miles

   Or

   From: Soggy Dry lake turnoff / Bessemer Rd , continue eastbound on Hwy 247
   for 19.7 miles

   Or

   From: Valley Vista Rd, continue eastbound on Hwy 247 for 10.1 mile

   Turn left (north) on Linn Rd and go 3.2 miles, look for an observatory on
   the right side,( and the road now becomes dirt)

   Go 0.1 mile to a fork in the road

   Keep to the left

   Go 2.7 miles to the lakebed ( just prior to getting there look for sign
   "Belfield Rd G.R (giant rock)

   NOTES: lakebed rough approximately 200x 800

   Runs north/south

   Look for ruts

   North/east side smoother

   Old runway north of lakebed too rough
